A working list of what we use and recommend — from compatible printers to chairside consumables. Some items ship with the kit; others are everyday purchases that keep the workflow running.
OCTOpod is built for two printers.
We test and validate every release on these two machines. Other DLP/LCD resin printers in the same build-volume class may work, but they are not supported workflows.
Elegoo Mars 4 Ultra 9K MSLA
The compact, high-resolution LCD printer that anchors the OCTOpod chairside workflow. ~10 min crown prints, 7″ 9K mono LCD, Wi-Fi, validated build profiles in our quick-start guide.
Phrozen Sonic Mini 8K S
Higher pixel density on a slightly larger footprint — useful for anterior detail. ~25 min crown prints (3-second hard-coded firmware delay between layers).

Resin bottle mixer & pre-heater
Antinsky HeatMixer-HM100 — bidirectional bottle roller with optional 40°C / 50°C pre-heat. Pre-warmed and homogeneous resin prints more reliably and reduces failed runs from settled pigment.
Pure Vegetable Glycerin (USP, food grade)
Used in the OCTOpod post-cure workflow. Food-grade / USP only — do not substitute industrial glycerin.
Two simple resin spatulas
2-pack silicone spatulas for resin transfer and clean release. Designed not to score the FEP film. A simple, durable hand-tool we’ll be including in our upcoming ArchKit.
Resin filter / funnel set
Disposable mesh filters for clean recovery of uncured resin back to the bottle between prints. Standard wear item — replace every few uses.
Lint-free wipes / microfiber pack
For cleaning the vat film, build plate, and post-cure surfaces. Avoid paper towel — fibers stick to uncured resin.
Electric air duster
Cordless 200,000 RPM electric air blower (Meudeen). Blow excess uncured resin off the print before the IPA or ethanol wash — keeps your wash bath cleaner and extends its life. Reusable; no canned air.
BEGO VarseoSmile TriniQ — the FDA-cleared resin we use.
TriniQ is BEGO’s ceramic-filled, biocompatible Class II material. Per BEGO’s IFU it is indicated for permanent single-unit restorations (crowns, inlays, onlays, veneers) and bridges up to 3 units, plus denture teeth and temporaries. It is the resin OCTOpod is validated against. Available in 10 VITA shades; buy direct from BEGO or through one of these dental retail partners.
Henry Schein (Zahn)
Henry Schein Zahn Dental carries TriniQ across all 10 VITA shades. Account / login may be required for ordering and shade-specific pricing. The search link below returns every TriniQ shade SKU.
US Dental Depot
Public catalog with shade-specific PDPs (e.g. C2, A3.5, 0M3). Their BEGO brand page is the cleanest landing for TriniQ and the rest of the VarseoSmile line.
Support removal & polishing.
Two finishing steps between the printer and the patient. Step 1: trim print supports off the crown with white stones before try-in. Step 2: polish to high luster after seating with composite-finishing wheels. Standard burs and wheels — no specialty kit required.
Valdent aluminum oxide white stones
Used to clean the support stubs off a freshly-printed TriniQ crown before try-in. Aluminum-oxide-bonded white stone burs cut printed resin cleanly without chipping. A simple, affordable bur set for the post-print prep step.
Garrison composite polishers (red & white)
Garrison Dental Solutions’ two-step composite polishing system. The red wheel handles intermediate polish; the white wheel takes it to high luster. Works equivalently on printed TriniQ.
